ARTIST BIO

Born in Australia of English and Belgian parents,  Eve Smith grew up in South Africa.

She has been painting Watercolours seriously for 15 years and has studied workshops under several prominent artists.

Painting en plein air with Amanda Hyatt on Norfolk Island was an experience of a lifetime.

In the last few years International professional artists have given her much inspiration.

Eve's paintings are described as calm and reflect her love of places inland and on the coast.

She draws on the richness of her childhood and adolescence in South Africa,  Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

Old photographs from her travels in Europe , where she lived in Brussels and Paris in her twenties, provide a wealth of memories.

Travelling around Australia and New Zealand gives her much material to paint from.

She is continually studying workshops from professional artists in Australia,  France, Canada and the USA.

In the last year she has been paintbrush travelling through the eyes of close friends and family living overseas. She connects emotionally through photos,  taken by friends,  of places she has always wanted to visit. Ireland and Cornwall beckon.

Eve moved to the South Coast of NSW eight years ago and hasn't looked back. She continually finds inspiration in the local countryside,  coastline and waterways.
